It’s spring here on the eastern shore and with a mild winter our colonies are building fast so are any local feral colonies. In addition to placing swarm traps in our area we setup swarm traps in our apiary as an insurance policy to catch any of our colonies that may likely swarm or feral colonies that are attracted to larger concentrations of live colonies.

We are reviewing the setup of a trap built by Neighbor Nate’s Bees that worked well for us last season as well as discussing why bees swarm and how to setup your trap.
