The Times’ Defence Editor Larisa Brown reports that the UK hired private US military contractors to carry out surveillance missions over Gaza, originally revealed and covered extensively by Matt Kennard and Palestine Deep Dive.

She said the UK has been carrying out intelligence and surveillance flights over Gaza since December 2023. But in recent weeks it has emerged that the UK hired US contractors to carry out these missions on behalf of Israel as Britain ran out of available aircraft, when they had to be sent back to the UK for maintenance and repairs.
