Grandma (オバアチャン) from NieR: Replicant - arranged for the Oboe, Piano and Cello!

Hi everyone! It has been a while since my last video...

I've been planning to shift things up a bit with the videos I'll be making, and I thought, why not make a cover? So it is quite special to be collaborating with the brilliant HalcyonMusic; and to have a skilled cellist in my good friend Haybe joining us, helps bring our arrangement one step closer to perfection!

So you might ask: why NieR? As someone who enjoys exploring the universe of anime and video games, and having just finished NieR: Automata, my attention immediately shifted to the series' epic soundtrack, made even better with the orchestral version ("Song of the Ancients" was played at the opening ceremony of this year's Olympics!) - I think "Grandma" is an exemplary piece that exhibits the oboe's tone and range! If you keep a close eye to our weird choice of clothing - the colour scheme was so picked to reflect the 3 certain books of wisdom from Replicant...

First cover, first arrangement - there's a first time for everything I suppose. It has been a memorable experience learning and working together with these two!

A massive shout-out goes to S², who's behind the camera, and absolutely blew our minds with his amazing audio work! Same goes to Jonathan Law, who kindly allowed us to record in his studio!

As always, stay tuned to A=440Hz for more reediculous content!
