Plastic Hinging at a Steel Beam During Sidesway Collapse

Описание к видео Plastic Hinging at a Steel Beam During Sidesway Collapse

This video is part of a shake table collapse test of a scale model of a 4-story steel moment resisting frame designed in California. The specimen was subjected to a scaled intensity of the fault-normal Canoga Park record from the Northridge 1994 earthquake in California. The 4-story steel moment resisting frame collapsed with a 3-story collapse mechanism. The video illustrates the formation of plastic hinging and ultimately fracture at the exterior first floor beam of the 4-story frame. The video is rotated by 90degrees. The test series was conducted during April-August 2007 in the NEES facility at the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY).
