*Dear Viewers,

I donated $100 to Advocates for Trans Equality, $20 (the cost I paid for the game) for the 5 days we played the game in October. I boycotted this game when it released like many others due to the disparaging comments made by the author of the source material regarding Trans people - specifically Trans women. As much as the boycott was a powerful sign of allyship, the game still went on to sell 24+ million copies and the boycott didn't really do anything to improve the lives of Trans people. My hope is to set a precedent to use our money to send a message. Imagine if every person who bought one copy of the game donated just a dollar to a Trans organization like A4TE or Trans Lifeline - that could have been $24,000,000+ donated to fight for Trans rights at legislative levels, provide gender affirming care, help hotlines, educational materials, etc. Warner Bros. intends to do a sequel, and I would love to see people engage with the content they love while giving to organizations that are fighting for Trans rights. If you don't agree with me, I respect your opinion. This is what I feel is the most responsible way to engage with my love for the Harry Potter world while supporting the Trans community I love and respect. I hope you'll join me in donating, be it to A4TE or another organization.
