This game has an interesting story (based on the famous book by Philip K. Dick, that's no surprise) and contains both strategy as adventure-elements. Released in 1998, it's almost impossible to play on modern systems nowadays. And when it works, it takes some time to get used to the controls and interface. But hidden under those questionable game-mechanics is an interesting story to follow, nice environments to see and a fitting orchestral score to hear. All of this creates an atmospheric game. Enjoy!

TECHNICAL DETAILS
I played this game in PCem with Windows 98 installed on it.
After the game-installation, I replaced the ubik.exe file with the one in this patch: https://www.patches-scrolls.com/dl.ph... (it adds an automatic save-function and removes HDR)
In larger areas, Ubik's framerate drops quite a bit. Get used to it. ;-)
The game contains lots of text for background-info. If you want to read, just hit the pause-button.
