I was originally going to test the Lezyne 1400 lumens, the Bookman 1500 lumens, and a KOM Cycling 1000 lumens with a really useful hinge feature that I saw at KOM Cycling's Sea Otter 2025 booth. I never got the KOM Cycling light mailed for testing. If it shows up, I'll do a separate review. I have a feeling that'll be good because I like the functionality where it tilts down for safety to stay out of people's view, and from what I saw on their website, the mounting looks solid.
On the lights that I tried, the Bookman is a super nice light, but it fell every time I used it. And while it was bright, people were blinded and complained. I liked the light, hated the mount. And for the Lezyne, solid performer, but the rubber mount buckle is cumbersome.
I haven't yet found the perfect accessory light. I'm intrigued by KOM CYCLING's light. It's plenty bright. But what really grabs my attention is KOM's pivot functionality, and what looks like a legitimate mount; neither Bookman nor Lezyne delivered on those two items.
