One of my favorite things is meeting women across the world who are making history, and Rosie is no exception. She is the first Black Female guide in Namibia and was for many years, the only female guide. I met her on a trip in September of 2021 when we ran into her on a trail in Twyfelfontein. Our guide (not Rosie) was taking us to see one of the largest concentrations of rock petroglyphs in Africa. (UNESCO approved this location as Namibia's first World Heritage Site in 2007.)

She was such a fascinating individual and so amazing that I couldn’t resist doing a quick interview with her. I wanted to her to share a little of her story, and how she ended up being a history-maker.

I appreciate the other guests letting me hold them up for a few minutes while she told her story. I hope you are as enamored with her as we all were.
Her story is about possibilities, seeing them in yourself and others, and the people that support them to help make dreams come true.
