Oluwo To Establish Muslim Association Of Obas.

The long-awaited transformation of Islam in Yorubaland has now begun to have a shape as Oluwo, Oba Abdul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi through Akire of Ikire Ile, Oba Abdul Azeez Olatunbosun begins to make a move for the establishment of the Association of Muslim Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (AMTRUN).

This good initiative for Muslims in Yorubaland was raised at the Grand reception for His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi from Saudi Arabia which was organized by the Federation of Ahlus-sunnah organizations in Nigeria(FASON) in conjunction with the Iwo Board of Ulamah.

The event which took place at Oluwo’s Palace yesterday, Sunday, 21st July, 2024 was graced by Muslim Obas across the length and breadth of Yorubaland as well as Islamic scholars.

The Grand Mufti who is now the President of the West Africa Coalition for Quds and Palestine urged the Muslims at the event, and Yoruba in general to unite under the Muslim Obas. He said through them, Islam would begin to wear a new look in Yorubaland.
