Sotheby's on Wednesday will auction jewelry once owned by French Queen Marie Antoinette that haven't been seen in public for 200 years.
The sale of "Royal Jewels from the Bourbon-Parma family" is set to take place in Geneva.
The jewels were shown in New York during Sotheby's Fine Jewels exhibition on 17 October, which also included collections from Barbara Sinatra and Happy Rockefeller.
Sotheby's says Marie Antoinette, who was executed by guillotine during the French Revolution, was often portrayed wearing pearls, which the auction house says were as prized as diamonds in the late 18th century.
Sotheby's says the highlight of the collection, "Queen Marie Antoinette's Pearl" - a diamond and pearl brooch - is expected to fetch more than one million US dollars.
