MI and Duchess met seven years ago at a DMV. They were both trying to renew their licences and couldn’t keep their eyes off each other. Duchess explained: "When I first saw Mi, I was like, she's so fine. When I walked up, I [was] like, yeah, that's mine." She was a little shy, so wrote her number on a piece of paper and asked her friend to give it to Mi. That evening Mi texted her, they began dating and moved in together not too long after. Although Duchess and Mi are very happy and in love with each other, they are criticized online for being together. "People mistake her as a man, but clearly, she looks like a female", Duchess said. Comments include, "Are you a girl or boy?", "No, ew, what the hell? This is so weird", and "Girls are supposed to have boyfriends." Duchess expanded that "the worst thing that we had to deal with so far when it comes to like the trolls is when they comment on my weight. Comparing us or commenting on how I look and how she looks."
