Just purchased an Aeropress coffee maker but you are unsure how to make amazing coffee with it?

This video is for you. In this video, we will show you how to make coffee with an Aeropress coffee maker using the AeroPress the correct way round.

An Aeropress is a device that looks nothing like a coffee maker. Even so, it has fast become a favourite for making coffee.
It is great for making rich tasty coffee! You can use the AeroPress the right way, or inverted.
Both are fun and have their merits, but be careful if using the inverted method that you don’t spill it everywhere!

Which will you prefer?

To get a little techy, we would recommend a starting ratio of 1 part coffee to 16 parts water for an Aeropress. If this is too strong or too weak for you, change the ratio as needed. As long as you enjoy it, make it however you wish!

You will need:

An Aeropress
A filter paper
A fancy mug
Scrummy coffee
Filtered water if possible. From the tap if not.

Rounded everything up? Let's start. The steps laid out in this guide are as follows:

Using your Aeropress to make great coffee the right way round:

1. Boil your kettle and let it cool for 30/60s.
2. If needed, grind your favourite coffee to a consistency similar to that of table salt.
3. Rinse your filter with warm water, either in the filter basket or rinse the whole Aeropress with the filter in.
4. Place the Aeropress over your mug and add 2 heaped tbsp (15g) of coffee.
5. Pour in 240ml of water. This should nearly fill the Aeropress. Stir the top.
6. Pop the plunger in gently. The ‘suction’ created will stop the coffee dripping through on its own.
7. After 1 minute, plunge the coffee into your mug. The plunging should be done over 30s.
8. Woop woop. You know the drill. Dance and enjoy!
