At Dronagiri the mountain top actually looks chopped off and the villagers think at this work of Hanuman who fetch the life saving herb from here in epic battle of Ramayana. Failing to identify the required herb, Hanuman lifted the herb filled top of the green Dronagiri. This led the locals furious against worshiping Hanuman.Today, there lies a beautiful forest on the chopped off landmass thus tracing the myth between peoples faith to the legend. The Dronagiri trek is one of the beautiful treks in the Garhwal Himalayan region that takes you through several isolated hamlets tucked in the mountains and thereafter leads you through the dense alpine forest.

Further, it offers you a panoramic view of the Rishi peak, Hathi Parvat, Trishuli and Grarur. It also leads through several gushing streams like the Dhauliganga and Bagini Nala. The vicinity offers a celestial view of the surrounding peaks and one can savor the unpolluted fresh and crisp air throughout the journey.

Itinerary
Day 0: Arrival to Joshimath. Nearest town Rishikesh/Dehradun is well connected with Air/Train/Bus. 250km Rishikesh to Joshimath will take full one day.
Day 01: Joshimath to Jumma - Ruing(2,400m/7,800ft): 44 km by Road + 2.5km / 1 hours trek
Day 02: Ruing to Dronagiri Village (3,600m/11,800 ft): 8km, 3 - 4 hours
Day 03: Dronagiri Village to Bagni Bugyal Lower: (3,700m/12,200ft): 8km, 3 - 4 hours
Day 04: Bagni Bugyal Lower to Dronagiri Base Camp(4420m/14,500ft): 05km, 2- 3 hours
Day 05: Dronagiri Mountain to Dronagiri Village: 13km, 5 - 6 hours
Day 06: Dronagiri Village to Joshimath Town
Day 07: Departure to your Home via Rishikesh/Dehradun.
