SIGNS OF LIFE: Seeking Wild Steelhead on the Skagit River

Описание к видео SIGNS OF LIFE: Seeking Wild Steelhead on the Skagit River

Northwest Washington State’s Skagit River houses a threatened wild steelhead population. “Signs of Life” tells the story of steelhead conservation on the Skagit through the anglers who ply its waters. These anglers reflect on how the meaning of fishing and what they get out of it have changed throughout their lives. The film also discusses the history of steelhead and steelhead fishing on the Skagit and issues currently facing steelhead in the river.

“As we reach a certain point in our lives in fishing,” conservationist Bill McMillan says, “It’s more than catching a fish; it’s the reason you’re out there. To be able to perfectly enjoy yourself when you’re out fishing. When you don’t burden yourself with some sort of expectation for it and what you’re going to catch.”
