THE GRAND CLOSING CEREMONY OF MARKA-E-HAQ 3RD POLICE EXTREME HANDGUN CHAMPIONSHIP HELD AT SSU HEADQUARTERS
The closing ceremony of the Marka-e-Haq 3rd Police Extreme Handgun Championship - 2025, jointly organized by the Special Security Unit (SSU) and the International Police Organization, was held at the SSU Headquarters.
Although the championship was conducted on September 8, 2025, the closing ceremony was postponed due to inclement weather.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Memon, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests included Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho, bureaucrats, dignitaries from various countries, senior and retired police officers, and representatives from various law enforcement agencies.
On this occasion, Commandant SSU Aamir Khan Niazi, addressed the gathering and extended a warm welcome to all the esteemed guests.
DIG Security and Emergency Services Division Dr. Maqsood Ahmed, in his address, stated that the objective of organizing this championship is to promote sports and bring forth new talented players who can represent Pakistan at the international level and bring pride to the nation.
IGP Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, in his speech, commended the successful organization of the championship and paid tribute to the SSU for its high standards in recruitment, training, and ISO certification. He highlighted the establishment process of the Security Division and its remarkable performance.
The IGP stated that whether it is international cricket matches, major exhibition programs, or VIP visits, the Security Division has always provided foolproof security without assistance from any other unit.
He said that such competitions not only strengthen the capabilities of law enforcement agencies but also provide an opportunity to showcase Pakistani talent on an international platform.
He further added that events of this nature play a vital role in enhancing mutual trust and cooperation between the police and the public.
Concluding his address, the IGP Sindh congratulated all the winners and participants, applauding their dedication and sporting spirit. He distributed medals and trophies to the winners in all categories.
The Marka-e-Haq 3rd Police Extreme Handgun Championship 2025 saw participation from 59 civilians, 49 law enforcement personnel, and 6 female shooters, reflecting the growing popularity and inclusivity of shooting sports in Pakistan.
In the Law Enforcement Team category, the Intelligence Bureau, SSU (SWAT), and ASF (Islamabad) secured first, second, and third positions, respectively.
In the Law Enforcement Individual category, Sheeraz Akhund (SSU), Abdul Rehman (ASF), and Amir Khan (Sindh Police) secured the top three positions.
In the Civilian category, Fazal Subhan, Imad-ul-Haq, and Nader Ali secured first, second, and third positions.
In the Female category, Tayyaba Zafar (SSU), Nimra (SSU), and Samina Bibi (ASF) secured the top three positions.
The ceremony concluded with DIG Dr. Maqsood Ahmed presenting a souvenir to IGP Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon. While, IGP Sindh also presented shields to the event organizers.
