Two days after his Emporio show, Giorgio Armani transformed his Via Bergognone runway theater into a tropical paradise for his latest collection display. With wooden director’s chairs and projected palm leaves setting the scene, Armani delivered a master class in tailored dressing for hot climates.

This smooth and confident collection showcased silky, unlined jackets with melting shoulders and sagging patch pockets, paired perfectly with soft suede loafers and espadrilles. Though not groundbreaking, the collection offered a steady, reassuring breeze of gentle colors, featherweight fabrics, inimitable Armani textures, and artful layering.

Armani elaborated on the Milan trend of suits in shirt-weight fabrics by stripping away lapels and collars, adding patch and utility pockets, and pairing them with loose, flowing pants over bare ankles. His revival of loose, pointy-collared shirts from the '80s and his unique take on classic patterns like Prince of Wales checks and herringbone reaffirmed his distinctive style.

Shadowy palm prints, flickering on the walls, appeared on silky shirts and jackets, destined to be favorites among holidaymakers and fans of “The White Lotus” series alike. Armani’s collection embraced suede, linen, and pastel hues, reflecting his seasoned instincts and consistency.

Marking his 50th anniversary in the fashion business next year, Armani’s long-standing expertise shone through in this collection, celebrated alongside key collaborators Leo Dell’Orco, head of the men’s style office, and Gianluca Dell’Orco, his nephew and key designer for 35 years.
