NKRATAASEM SPORTS BETTING EVENT 2024 MAIDEN EDITION

The Nkrataasem Sports Betting event, which took place on August 10, 2024, at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Conference Hall, was a resounding success.

Spearheaded by CEO Alex Kobina Stonne and fronted by Brand Ambassador Miss Eunice Ankrah, the event brought together experienced tipsters and journalists to advocate for safe betting practices among participants.

With a focus on educating youth and bettors about responsible gambling, the event was hosted by Natalia Andoh, a counselling psychologist and broadcast journalist.

The gathering featured engaging presentations from notable speakers. Noel Nutsugah, a lecturer and head of Public Relations at the University of Media Arts and Communications Institute of Journalism (UNIMAC-IJ), stressed the importance of risk management and financial prudence for young bettors, emphasizing that betting carries inherent risks.

Prof. E.K. Wallace, a broadcast journalist and head of Sports at the Adom cluster, underscored the importance of responsible gambling. He emphasized adherence to legal age restrictions and promoted practices that minimize harm while maximizing the enjoyment of betting. He also highlighted the serious consequences of irresponsible gambling, such as financial loss, addiction, and strained relationships.

Renowned sports betting tipster Enoch Smith provided valuable insights into betting strategies, helping participants better understand and effectively apply them.

Opoku Clinton, also known as LilMo GH, delved into the basics of sports betting, explaining the significance of understanding and analyzing odds using the Poisson distribution. He urged bettors to approach betting with a business mindset rather than as a mere game of chance, stressing the importance of self-discipline to prevent addiction.

In a post-event interview, LilMo GH praised the event for its informative and impactful nature, expressing optimism that participants would use the knowledge gained to engage in responsible betting and contribute to a safer and more profitable betting industry.

The organizers, led by CEO Alex Kobina Stonne, reaffirmed their commitment to making this event an annual initiative, recognizing the importance of educating bettors on safe practices.
