My Thoughts on Rivals 2

Rivals 2 is the newest platform fighter that shares similarities to Smash Ultimate and Melee. This is a bit of an early Rivals 2 review. Orcane was just announced as the newest fighter to join the game. I joined the late backer Kickstarter to try Rivals 2 out for myself during a beta testing weekend. In this video I answer some questions including:

How does Rivals 2 feel to play?

Does the gameplay have depth?

Are the characters in Rivals 2 balanced?

Will Rivals 2 be the first Smash killer?

Maypul quickly became my favorite character in the game with her incredible speed and dash attack that sets up perfectly into forward air spikes. She has great frame data and very little lag on her moves. Maypul and Ranno are the top tier characters in Rivals 2 in my opinion. The game has great movement options like wavedashing and dash dancing. I'm looking forward to Rivals 2 tournaments in the future. This indie game is the sequel to Rivals of Aether.
