Описание к видео Replacing A Slow Fill Valve On A Toilet

While working on an apartment, the toilet kept running. I swapped out the 3" flapper and then realized the fill valve was super slow as well (they can also make a pretty annoying hissing sound as well). I popped the top cap off to see if there was any debris or anything blocking it and that didn't do the trick, so I decided to just swap it out with a new one. Here's a quick video from replacing it.

Replacing the fill valve on a toilet is really pretty easy, especially on newer toilets. The steps to replace the fill valve on a toilet is...

1. Turn off the water at the shut off
2. Flush the toilet, holding the handle to drain as much water as possible from the tank
3. Remove the supply line - I recommend replacing the supply line as well since those are never fun when they fail.
4. Get a bucket ready or use a shopvac to suck out the remaining water in the tank
5. Hold down the fill valve while unscrewing the nut on the bottom side of the tank. This helps prevent water from dripping out until you are ready to put the bucket in place and pull the old fill valve out - This isn't an issue if you shopvac the water out first.
6. Get the new fill valve ready. These are pretty standard and the one I use is the most common, easy to use. Simply adjust the height to match the original (or a little lower than the tank when it's seated in the hole)
7. Place the fill valve in the hole and tighten down the nut. Give it a few extra turns with a wrench to ensure it's tight.
8. Reconnect the supply line to the fill valve (and shut off valve)
9. Connect the hose to the fill valve and overflow
10. Turn on the water and let it fill - Adjust the height up or down as necessary either on the fill valve or the adjustment knob on the float. There is usually a fill line on the tank to help adjust to where it needs to be.

That's it. Good to go.
