Arará Savalú live looping project - Bandera for Auñoro/Makenu

Описание к видео Arará Savalú live looping project - Bandera for Auñoro/Makenu

A short clip from the Afro-Cuban Arará Savalú song and drumming tradition of the rhythm Bandera played for the Foduces (Arará deities) Auñoro and Makenu (the male and female roads to the Lucumí equivalent of Obbatala).

This is my experiment to see if I can successfully loop all the parts in a live setting, for situations such as Afro-Cuban dance classes, etc. Aside from the drums, mic, and amp, I'm using a Boss RC-500 looping pedal and a TC-Helicon H1 vocal harmonizer.

Performed by Joe Galvin.

Modupwe to all of our Arará teachers!!
Thanks for watching. Check out our book on the music of the Arará Savalú community from Matanzas, Cuba. All proceeds go back to the cabildo.
