I am a member of the Fremont EAA Chapter. I was flight testing my Draco for our Flyin Breakfast the next day. There were no “full scale” flight operations at the airport that evening. The wind was 10-15 mph out of the Northwest. The clock on the GoPro was incorrect, it was about 6:00 in the evening. Fremont is about 700ft. above sea level as shown on the telemetry. I flew below 400ft. above ground level. My ground speed was around 18-20 mph flying into the wind and 45-50 mph flying down wind. I avoided flying over houses north of the airport and the East/West Runway. As you can see in the telemetry, I had a ground speed of 18 mph flying into a 15 mph headwind. You can see that the flaps are down in the landing configuration. It appears that the left wing stalled and dropped violently 6ft. above the ground. The model Draco cartwheeled into a ball of foam! It’s my opinion that the leading edge slats on this model are completely ineffective and only there for show! This was my third flight of the evening. The previous flights were successful!
