This is Ultra Hardcore! To win this Minecraft competition you must outlive every other player, but things are harder than usual: you can't regenerate your health, even with a full hunger bar. The only way to gain health back is to eat a golden apple, which must be crafted with gold ingots instead of nuggets, or brew a healing potion, using a glistering melon crafted with a gold block.

Season 6 of WMC is called "When Miners Combine". It's a team game where every player shares his health with his or her teammate. If one player takes damage, both players will be inflicted half of the total damage. More details in the reddit thread, linked above. The last team standing wins!
