Bodey Langford – Langford Cattle Company, Texas – Never gone dry

Much like the San Marcos River in Bodey Langford’s backyard, he’s a gentle but steady force, a constant mark in the cattle industry and the lives he touches.

Angus cattle are a staple at his place, more so than the thousands of visitors Bodey has entertained through the years. Ambassadorship is second nature to him and he finds joy in dispelling myths guests bring to his ranch.

The breed has been good to him, offering leadership positions within the industry to work with like-minded producers. The seasoned cattleman is now a trusted resource for advice and direction for others looking to improve their herds.

“I’ve told people for years that the only real reason purebred cattle exist is to provide high-quality herd sires for the commercial cattle business,” Bodey says. “The females end of it is fun and it’s exciting, but our real reason for being here is to provide those bulls for the beef industry and to create the best carcasses that we can for the packers and the American public to eat. It’s all about the high-quality eating experience.”
