Special thank you to Cher Tong Xiong for taking the time for the interview and sharing some of his wisdoms on how to survive and be successful to live in the State of Florida. Also he allowed Hmong Inspiring Channel to film his farm and his 10 acre home of bamboo. He moved from Wisconsin to Minnesota and he moved to Florida. Mr. Xiong was an army in the US CIA Secret Army during the Vietnam War from 1962 - 1975, when the Country Laos felt to the communist party. He then fleet to Thailand and then came to United States of American as a refugee. He first arrived in West bend, Wisconsin and also moved to St Paul, Minnesota but he felt that Wisconsin and Minnesota were not a permanent place for him and his family. Mr. Xiong believed that Florida will give him a sense of permanent home; therefore, he decided to move his family to Florida in 1995 and he now lives in Wauchula, Florida since. He has 4 -5 parcels of land planting bamboo, Gingers and oranges. Above of all these crops, he believes in planting bamboo, which he raised his own baby bamboo nursery.
