Singapore 1983: Another day at the quay

Life before the demolishment of North Boat Quay, finishing with the delight of an opium pipe. A film by Ronni Pinsler. Do the viewers know what the old shopkeeper is selling and what do the three puppets shown represent? Which chess? game is being played? Viewer Persimmone informs me: The entire area has been demolished. What stands on the spot where the temple was, is now a shopping center called The Central. The area is now called Clarkes Quay, with lots of trends pubs.
