Hollow Knight is a metroidvania where you control The Knight, a vessel who is tasked with saving the fictional realm of Hallownest from an ancient infection that threatens to destroy the entire realm. In Hollow Knight, the player is able to upgrade their loadout by giving themselves more HP, more soul, and more damage to their primary weapon, the nail. However, I was curious, so I asked myself a stupid question. Is it possible to beat Hollow Knight without ever upgrading your loadout? Can you beat Hollow Knight (and fight some of the most brutal boss fights in any video game) if you never get stronger than the starting loadout? Well, check out the video to find out.
