Salamander Emergence and Snakes on the Outer Banks! - Herping the North Carolina Coast

Описание к видео Salamander Emergence and Snakes on the Outer Banks! - Herping the North Carolina Coast

You might have heard of the show Outer Banks, but did you know that it is actually an extensive barrier island system in northeastern North Carolina? Over thousands of years, coastal sediments have been deposited to form sand dunes, and in that time, maritime forests have formed harboring many species from cool plants, migratory birds, reptiles, and most of all, salamanders! It's weird to think that these sensitive amphibians can live on the coast, but I was able to find so many of them on the Outer Banks, so it seems they are doing quite well.
