Traditional dance by the Gana people from the Keningau district

Описание к видео Traditional dance by the Gana people from the Keningau district

Mansayau dance performed by dancers of the Sabah Gana Association (Persatuan Gana Sabah). The Gana (or Ganna) ethnic group mostly lives in the interior parts of Sabah, such as Bingkor, Ambual, Sodomon, Meilo, Binaong, and Liou in the Keningau district. They originated more than 2,000 years ago, making them one of the oldest aboriginal tribes in Borneo. Nowadays, their population is small, so their culture is in danger of extinction. There is much to be discovered about their heritage, including their traditional foods such as Kuih Bintanok Puntih, Kuih Sinudot Budit, Kuih Pinompol, Kuih Linopot Lakatan, and Kuih Khayhu (tapioca).
