GT7 | '87 Nissan R31 Skyline GTS-R | Gran Turismo 7 Car Review

I first began to love the R31 GTS-R Skyline around GT6, with its distinctly more bare bones approach when compared to the quintessentially computer-forward generations which came after. This is seen first and foremost in its use of RWD instead of the more expected 4WD of the later generation GT-R's, and being as it is a homologation special on top of that, the R31 GTS-R definitely deserves its spot as a top tier collectors Skyline, but is also one which still feels great to drive decades on...

''The R31, introduced in 1985, represented the seventh generation of the Nissan Skyline Brand. The most superior version was the GTS-R that was introduced in 1987. Created with the purpose of winning the Japanese Touring Car Championship (JTC), Japan's top touring car event at the time, it was a homologation model developed in accordance with international Group A regulations. Under the hood, Nissan added a new turbocharger to the GTS base models' 2.0-liter inline 6. Exterior tweaks included a large rear spoiler, along with other aerodynamic equipment. This R31 Skyline GTSR had a limited production run of about 800 units. So, it should come as no surprise that this model has become a true collector's item of the famous Skyline series.''
