Luckily we were home when it happened, however we heard a loud humming or vibrating type noise coming from the laundry. After a little inspection we noticed the washing machine was trying to spin, but it was like the motor was jammed.

The video shows the process i went through to find the cause of the fault. Very cheap repair, but i would like to highlight how dangerous this can be. Please be careful if attempting this at home.
