Patent Form 27, officially titled 'Statement Regarding the Working of the Patented Invention on a Commercial Scale in India,' is one of the most critical post-grant compliances for every patentee and licensee in India.

Under Section 146(2) of the Patents Act and Rule 131, you must disclose whether your invention is being 'worked' in India to ensure the public benefits from the patent monopoly. Failure to file Form 27 or providing false information can lead to heavy fines (up to ₹10 Lakh) or even Compulsory Licensing!
