Mark McGwire, often referred to as Big Mac, forever altered the landscape of America’s pastime. In 1998, McGwire and Sammy Sosa’s thrilling pursuit of home run history captivated fans around the globe. The spotlight followed this duo every night during this storybook season that included numerous tape measure shots. Mark’s compact swing, brute strength, and timely hitting allowed him to break a hallowed record. Before attaining legendary status, he and Jose Canseco formed the iconic Bash Brothers tandem with the Oakland Athletics.
