Dr Majid Ali, after being graduated with MSc in Clinical Pharmacy from University College London in the UK in 2007, started his career as a researcher and has been a project manager for developing, implementing and evaluating diabetes pharmaceutical services in community pharmacy setting in the UK. He was associated with the School of Pharmacy, University of Hertfordshire in the UK for 10 years as a Senior Lecturer. He is the winner of several academic awards for his teaching skills including Vice-Chancellor Tutor of Year in 2012 and Faculty Excellence Award in Blended Learning in the same year in University of Hertfordshire in the UK. In 2014, he was awarded with a financial grant for developing an educational mobile phone app for all UK pharmacy students.
Majid Ali has worked with Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, Saudi Arabia for more than 5 years. He has special research interest in pharmacogenomics as well as using simulation and artificial intelligence in pharmacy education and practice.
He is an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) in the UK. In 2018, Majid Ali was awarded with honorary Adjunct Fellowship from University of Adelaide, Australia. He is a board-certified geriatric pharmacist (BCGP) from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties & a board-certified advanced diabetes manager from American Association of Diabetes Educators.
