What a story: Scammed by his first Filipina (he married her) and sent to prison. He was homeless on the beach for three years and was sent to prison. With no money he walked from Dumaguete to Cebu City to start a new life.

Join us as we interview a New Zealand expat as he describes his incredible life story. Growing up in New Zealand and moving to Australia before working 25 years in the United States. He owned his owned business however he did not earn a pension from social security. Hoping to sell his business he left for the Philippines in 2011 landing first in Dumaguete where he had met a filipina online. He had chatted for two years through Skype and he made the move, however his hopes of selling his business in the USA did not occur and his funds ran short.

He married his first filipina, and they stayed together in Dumaguete for 6 months before he learned she had mislead him, scammed him. She had children she had not revealed and became pregnant with another man. Claiming it was his child she pressed legal claims.

A story of redemption and renewal, as our Expat describes encounters with law enforcement and Prison. Walking across the Philippines, surviving with no money, finding work and meeting a new partner and becoming a father in his sixties in Cebu City. Moving to Cagayan de Oro Misamis Oriental Mindanao he struggled to provide an income for his family. He started selling donuts door to door and quickly began a catering business bicycling 30 kilometers a day to provide for his growing family.
