This set demonstrates a new way for DJs and music producers to earn bitcoin via livestreaming.

If someone listening likes a particular track, they can tip small amounts of bitcoin in appreciation. Tips are automatically split between the DJ for playing the track and the producer for making it. Producers can also opt to make their track downloadable if a certain payment threshold is met.

I created this service because the digital economy is broken for musicians. Royalties from streaming services such as Spotify are not sustainable for producers. Additionally, livestreams oftentimes shutdown due to bots haphazardly enforcing copyright. Split payments can provide a way for everyone to benefit with DJs, producers and platforms all receiving a cut.

What I love about bitcoin is how it’s designed to redistribute power from legacy models where it’s being abused. We need to explore revenue models that do not rely on advertisements. We need to explore revenue models that don't stop the music from playing.
