ABOUT US: The Formerly Incarcerated Law Students Advocacy Association, "FILSAA", is an organization at CUNY School of Law in NYC. FILSAA advocates for the needs of law students with criminal records and is composed of both formerly incarcerated law students and allies. We work to create a pipeline from prison to a career as an attorney by guiding formerly incarcerated students through the law school application process, providing them with resources, and advocating for their admission into CUNY School of Law. Once accepted, FILSAA supports them through their law school journey and we also work together to provide resources and support to people who are currently incarcerated.
