Actress Phylicia Rashad warmly introduces children to this multicultural series that explores the rich tapestry of world cultures thriving in America today.

Providing children with an understanding of the diversity of their classrooms and neighborhoods, these programs present each culture through a variety of fun and fast-paced educational segments that celebrate the cultural values and traditions of the American community.

ARAB-AMERICAN HERITAGE
Exciting adventures appear at every turn as children are introduced to the fascinating countries of the Arab World and see the many cultural influences that have been brought to the United States by Arab Americans.

Everyone learns to count to ten and say a few words in Arabic. Then children journey to a Syrian market and bakery in New York City that displays a rich variety of grains, nuts, fresh fruits and vegetables, and delicious desserts. There's also an animated folktale called The Three Princes, a quick class in how to make a mosaic picture frame, and a choral presentation of "Diki Diki," a traditional Arabic folksong about a rooster.
