The first build with the Cat (Charm) is actually the more Casual Friendly Survival/Endurance/Loot Build :) The Second one with +1100 % armour (1000 base armour times ten; 10,000 :o ), is great and all, and has blood hounds! (omg!)
But, Unfortunately, at a certain point (level 3000+ ish), adaptation and even 10,000 Armour drop off, also, if you get a tiny gap in your "Targetting chain" (Mecha Empowered set asigns you targets), you can go down from a few unlucky big eximus hits... not a big issue, as you can self rez as you saw, but if you keep getting downed all the time + overwhelmed, basically it would be better to just shield gate...
...Unless you use the almighty power of friendship :P (with revenant mesmer skin, or stacking damage reduction buffs; trin, gara, mirage) To buff each other & Shrug off those 14 million bombard hits! :P
