Foundation For A Leader | To Be | Sathya Sai Baba Mahavakya On Leadership | Satsang

Sathya Sai's Mahavakya (Great Statement) on Leadership is "To Be, To Do, To See, To Tell". We often associate leaders with powerful oratory and communication. However, this 'telling' impact is only the last storey in the superstructure of leadership. "To See" is to to have the ability to see when, where and how something has to be told. But before that one has "To Do" what one is planning to preach. But even more fundamental is "To Be" that which one proclaims and does.

This "To Be" goes beyond whether others notice or whether others attack you for the same. Here is a poignant episode where Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba was poisoned as a 'test' in the 1970s. It resulted in an ascending paralysis. His response and insights give us an understanding of what it is "To Be".
