The Canadian manufactured Honda CR-V is all new for the 2023 model year. It has fresh new looks, a new hybrid powertrain under the hood, and a larger interior.

For the first time in the Canadian market, the 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid is available. The engine is a 2.0L Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder and it is aided by two electric motors. The total system output is 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. This makes it the most powerful CR-V ever.

The standard engine is a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque. That peak torque figure is now reached at 300 rpms sooner than last year’s model at just 1,700 rpms. This makes the engine a bit more responsive and that peak torque number is sustained until 5,000 rpms.

The 2023 Honda CR-V is also one of the safest models ever made. Not only does it have a full suite of airbags including a standard driver knee and rear passenger side air bags, but also a lot of advanced driver and safety aids, most of which are standard. The only exception are the front and rear parking sensors which are only available on the EX-L and Touring trims.
