Minar Pakistan Lahore is a national monument of Pakistan which has been constructed at the exact spot in Lahore where the historic resolution of Pakistan was passed on March 23, 1940 at a meeting of the All India Muslim League chaired by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It is also called Memorable Pakistan.
The place was then called Minto Park, which was part of the British Empire.
Today, the park is called Iqbal Park.
A committee was formed in 1960 by the then President Field Marshal Ayyub Khan to build it. And the tower was built on the recommendations and design approved by the same committee. Mukhtar Masood was also a leading member of the committee.
Construction It was designed by Turkish architect Nasruddin Marat Khan.
Construction began on March 23,1960, by Mian Abdul Khaliq Company.
And on October 21, 1968, its construction was completed.
The total cost of its construction was Rs. 7.5 million.
