In this recipe, Kapil Verma brings together juicy, perfectly seasoned meatballs with a soft, melty mozzarella centre. They're seared to lock in all that goodness and then gently simmered in a rich tomato sauce until everything comes together in a warm, cheesy, and deeply satisfying way. 😋❤️

Serve them over a bed of spaghetti, pair them with buttery garlic bread, or enjoy them just as they are. However, you choose to indulge, these meatballs are sure to win hearts and leave you craving more. 💯

MOZZARELLA STUFFED MEAT BALLS

Ingredients

Meatballs
100 grams mozzarella cheese + for garnish
300 grams chicken mince
¼ cup breadcrumbs
1 small onion, chopped
1 tsp finely chopped garlic
½ tsp dried oregano
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley leaves
Salt to taste
2-3 tbsps oil
Fresh parsley sprig for garnish
Sauce
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
1 cup tomato puree
½ tsp red chilli flakes
½ tsp dried oregano
1 tsp castor sugar

Method

1. To make the sauce, heat oil an butter in a non-stick pan. Add onion and a pinch of salt and mix well. Cook for a minute or till it turns translucent.
2. Add garlic, mix and cook for 30 seconds or till the raw smell goes away.
3. Add tomatoes, mix and cook till they turn soft and pulpy. Add tomato puree and mix well.
4. Add red chilli flakes, dried oregano, and castor sugar and mix well. Cook for 1 minute.
5. Add ½ cup water, mix, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes or till the sauce is thickened.
6. Cut the mozzarella cheese into small cubes.
7. To make the meatballs, take chicken mince in a large bowl. Add ½ of the breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, oregano, parsley leaves, salt and mix well. Add the remaining breadcrumbs and mix till well combined.
8. Take a small portion of the chicken mince, make a cavity in the centre and stuff it with a mozzarella cheese cube and bring the edges to the centre and seal. Roll it into a ball.
9. Heat oil in another non-stick pan. Place the meatballs and cook on high heat till golden brown on all sides. Take the pan off the heat.
10. Add some water in the sauce to adjust the consistency. Place the pan back on heat and allow the mixture to come to a boil. Add the meatballs into the sauce and gently mix. Cook for a minute.
11. Serve hot garnished with grated mozzarella cheese and parsley sprig.
