In a small and magical forest sits the world-renowned wood furniture designer’s home base. In the quiet workshop surrounded by greenery, we were able to see the craftsmen carefully working on each piece of furniture from design to production, including chairs with sophisticated forms and tables that make the most of the lines of the trunk.



木工家具デザイナーとして世界的に評価されるジョージ・ナカシマの工房を、アメリカ・ペンシルバニア州のニューホープに訪ねた。緑に囲まれた静かな工房では、洗練されたフォルムのチェアや、幹のラインを活かしたテーブルなど、デザインから製作までひとつひとつ丁寧に行っている職人たちの作業風景を見ることができた。
