Hybrid Moments (Covered by The Hawkbirds)

The Hawkbirds covering the Misfits track, “Hybrid Moments”.

The song, written by Glenn Danzig, was supposed to be released in 1978, on their debut album 'Static Age', but the album was not released until 1995, where the original version can be heard. A remixed version, produced by Glenn Danzig without consulting the band surfaced on a 1985 compilation album 'Legacy of Brutality'. The song lyrics can be aligned with the plot from the movie 'Isle of Lost Souls', in which an island was inhabited by hybrids of animals and humans created by an eccentric scientist. Danzig writes, in particular, about a panther-woman character, named Lola, who is slowly transforming from a beautiful woman into an animal.

This cover was recorded on 3/31/24 in our basement studio, on 6 separate tracks (vocals, lead guitar, bass guitar, toms, bass drum, and overhead drums) using a Zoom H6 audio interface, and mixed with GarageBand. The sound is much better than the iPhone that we had been using! Let us know what you think!
