Cleaning Co2 Laser Honeycomb Table

Описание к видео Cleaning Co2 Laser Honeycomb Table

Do you have a honeycomb table on your Co2 Laser machine that looks ghastly and want to give it a fresh look?

While researching for this video I found a wide range of products and chemical solutions available and used by Laser machine users to clean their Honeycomb table, and some of these I will list in the item description below. In this video I demonstrate two of these products to clean up the residue build up from the honeycomb table of two of my laser machines.

You will need to rinse the chemicals off using a high pressure if you have access to one, otherwise you may need to have a small ridgid pipe cleaner to scrub and then rinse with a hose.

The first step is to remove the honeycomb table from the machine and take it outside. On this machine it is as easy as removing the 4 screws fixing it to the lifting platform.

As my Control Test I will use only the pressure washer with water to see its effect on the honeycomb and the residue. Here you can see there is very little cleaning effect with only high pressure water.

SAFETY FIRST
Read Safety and Chemical Handling Directions Carefully.
and Use the Necessary Personal Safety Equipment.

FIRST CHEMICAL TEST
This particular Product is GLITZ OUTDOOR CLEANER CONCENTRATE.
It is a Concrete cleaner concentrate, was highly recommended by quite a few users, the Active Chemical in this product is SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE 50g/l
I Diluted with water at a ratio of 1:1 into a pressure sprayer, which made the solution easy to spray onto the honeycomb. To make sure you get into all surfaces of the honeycomb I recommend rotating the honeycomb and re-applying , and don’t forget the second side.

Then leave it to soak for about 15-20 minutes, After that using pressure washer rinse off, again rotating the honeycomb to get into all surfaces of the honeycomb.

SECOND CHEMICAL TEST
This particular Product is SELLEYS - .OVEN CLEAN
This comes in an aerosol can, and is much easier to prepare as you do you have to dilute with water.
This particular product contains SODIUM HYDROXIDE, MONOETHANOLAMINE & ETHANOL
This is easy to spray onto the honeycomb, you may need a few cans to cover a larger area or to reapply if needed. Again rotate the honeycomb if necessary to get all surfaces covered with the cleaner. Allow to soak in for about 15 minutes. Then pressure wash with water to rinse.

THE RESULTS
From my experience both solutions performed very well,
There were some stains on both that could not be removed even after I repeated the cleaning.
The oven cleaner was easier to use as it was packaged ready to use and did not require diluting.
The outdoor cleaner was less messy and has less irritating fumes than the oven cleaner, and is more cost effective than the oven cleaner by volume.

Thanks for Visiting.
Until next time, take care
