The Escalator is a fairly basic move in slinky manipulation, where you attempt to imitate the motion of a Slinky falling down a flight of stairs. Except the stairs are moving up, acting as an escalator and keeping the slinky in the same general spot.

The "trick" to this move is being able to move your top hand down to become the "bottom stair" VERY quickly. With practice, anyone can learn it.
