TDP leader K Raghurama Krishna Raju lodged a high-profile complaint leading to the booking of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and several senior officials in an "attempt to murder" case. The allegations have stirred the political landscape, bringing to light a controversial incident from 2021.

Raju, the ruling party's MLA from Undi, filed the complaint against Reddy, senior IPS officers PV Sunil Kumar and PSR Sitaramanjaneyulu, retired police officer R Vijay Paul, and former Guntur Government General Hospital superintendent G Prabhavati.

The case was registered at Nagarampalem police station in Guntur, based on a complaint Raju sent via mail a month ago. According to police officials, Raju's complaint accused the former CM and the officials of subjecting him to custodial torture and plotting a criminal conspiracy against him. The complaint cited several IPC sections, including 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 166 (public servant disobeying law), 167 (public servant framing an incorrect document), 197 (issuing or signing false certificate), 307 (attempt to murder), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 465 (forgery), and 506 (criminal intimidation), read with section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
