Glass Children | Jamie Guterman | TEDxYouth@SRDS

Описание к видео Glass Children | Jamie Guterman | TEDxYouth@SRDS

Jamie speaks about living life as the sibling of a child with special needs. She shares what it means to be a “glass child,” including how siblings can sometimes be overlooked and face challenges within their own lives. Jamie also speaks about how her struggles as a sibling have taught her valuable lessons about uncovering who we are. Why is it important to allow oneself to feel everything in life, even the hard stuff? Finding happiness means accepting and growing from all of the struggles, and we must embrace all of life in order to discover our true identities. Jamie is a junior from Canterbury High School in southwest Florida. She is passionate about discussing international affairs, politics, diplomacy, and advocating for the special needs community due to her older sister having disabilities. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
