An aerial overview of some major construction projects in our city. One well on its way to completion, another still digging to allow underground parking and the other waiting for a developer to commit to building it.
Deux-Montagnes has the 'luck' of having 2 REM train stations. The downside is the that we have 2 areas of one kilometer radii around each station designated as TOD zones. (Transit Oriented Development.) We are obliged by the provincial government to densify to 40 habitable units per hectare or 80 people per hectare. Obviously, major multi-unit projects are the only way of achieving these goals. FYI the Dieppe/LaChapelle project is 24 units.
