School officials in one Florida county decided to approve a fee-based busing measure Monday night.
The Lake County school district cut courtesy busing in June, but parents said it wasn't safe for their kids to walk through traffic to get to school.
The measure approved Monday provides busing for all elementary school students who live within two miles of their schools.
Busing the addition students to school will cost the district about $66,000 each year, according to board members. That cost will be passed on to parents at about $1 or $2 for each student, each day.
The additional busing plan goes into place next Monday.
